Richborough Power staiton across Pegwall Bay, Ramsgate

This was shot in 1984 - the keen eyed observer will be able to date it by the presence of Hover Lloyd Hovercraft on the Pegwell Bay Hoverport apron - now long since closed (having looked at how the print appears on the website the keen eye would have to be very keen!). Scanned from 35mm FP4 and toned in Photoshop after tweaking levels.

Hopfield, Brenley, near Faversham

Shot in February last year when we had a very brief period of snow. Converted to B&W and quad toned with a slight pink tinge.

Water tower and moon, St Thomas' Hill, Canterbury

This old water tower has been bought, I am told, by two architects from London who are going to convert it into a house. If they succeed it will certainly have stunning views of Canterbury! It was shot around dusk on a nearly cloudless evening (and I cheated a little by moving the moon to a better position from a compositional point of view). Quad toned in Photoshop.

Mill Pond, Kearsney Abbey, Dover

I am not sure what part this pond played in the old monastery's activities on this site, so I have assumed that it was part of the mill works. The shot was taken at dawn in July last year, so the light was still fairly even (and the gardens were not over run with holiday makers).

Coverted to black and white in Photoshop and I used a colour balance layer to warm the final image just a little.

Cotton grass in evening sun, Richborough

Another of those shots from nearly 25 years ago. This was taken in the evening sun on the marshland in front of Richborough Power station, near Sandwich. The negative, like do many from that period of my photography has not lasted in good condition, but here at least I think that its decay makes for an interesting photograph!

Shot on Tri-X which would have been developed in D11 at 1:1, no other details remembered!

Fog at Dunkirk

Just after dawn on a December day in a foggy field near Dunkirk, Canterbury. Converted to B&W and then pink duo-toned.
